Owner & US Navy Veteran
Dan MacIndoe
Dan has been building, fixing, and troubleshooting for 50 years. As a teenager he worked in an automotive machine shop rebuilding engines. He has built two homes from the ground up. About 30 years ago began owning, and therefore repairing, a variety of recreational vehicles including tent trailers, bumper pulls, pickup campers, class C, and even a unique, high end minimalist trailer called a Sylvan Sport.
One thing is common to almost all RV's is they are prone to trouble for a variety of reasons and need regular maintenance. We currently own and live full time in a Grand Design travel trailer home based in the Prescott area of Arizona but frequently are mobile camping from Arizona to the Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountains. For many years Dan troubleshooted and made repairs based on general knowledge and with the help of Youtube videos like many of us do. Our Grand Design trailer has had a variety of issues.
In 2019 he discovered the National RV Training Academy and researched this school thoroughly, attended classes earning the official certification as an RV Technician. Dan is a member of the RV Technician Association of America, as a Certified Technician. Certified technicians have been trained to troubleshoot systems including furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators, landing / leveling gear, slides and more. This certification contrasts greatly with companies who are known as “parts swappers,” which means someone who replaces parts until a problem is solved and frequently can become unnecessarily costly.
Dan is also a US Navy Veteran having served over six years as a Naval Supply Corps Officer.
